Kenta is the trainer who is represented in the Gold, Silver and Crystal game boy games. He began his journey from New Bark Town, after receiving Cyndaquil from Utsugi-Hakase. Kenta leaves behind his friends, Marina and Jun'ichi, in hopes to one day become a Pokémon Master. Kenta trains his Pokémon well, and is an overall good trainer. Like Satoshi, he is respectful of his Pokémon, and treats them with friendship and honor.
Kenta has appeared in an animé special which aired in Japan. In the animé episode Poketto Monsutaa Jurisutaru: Raikou Kaminari no Densetsu(The Legend of Raikou), Kenta attemps to save Raikou from one of Team Rocket's plans to capture rare Pokémon. Marina, one of Kenta's friends, helps battle for the safety of the Pokémon. After Kenta saves Raikou, Marina and he part ways and continue on their own seperate adventures.
